Strange Voices Strange notions

Last night upon delivering some plants to his daughter, I took Ron and wife along with me to my latest spot of commerce. As we neared Ron’s dwelling his entire attitude changed faster than a pendulum swing. He said that , the new shop was going to happen just all the rest of my conquests. The facts are these, the radio werx could have easily been brought here to Bliss, but to make it more professional I undertook at serious expense to me, an office. Why? Because grand ole Ron was going to come over and do his brand of comedy. He didn’t of course, so count that one out. Next the cafe at the GCAPRT, I set up because Ron wanted to do up a eating place, the rent on the old cafe at Gooding’s Airport was cheap enough,(free) again, Ron decides he’d rather sit at home, get fatter and gripe about life and vegetate. Not for me. Now is everything Ron’s fault? No, the main reason, I have never bought any property in these parts is quite simple, I am not yet completely convinced that western Idaho, including the Tragic Valley is where I want or need to drop anchor. Over the last 4 years since I got here to this idiotic area, I have been put down and trashed so much, that despite many gifts of both time and serious money by myself as well as both my Mom & Dad, the attitude here is not one of welcome open arms. So renting for enough time to get the feel of the vibe of an area is what I do. Its called my internal sense of mental preservation. Is Bliss the place to drop anchor? Well now that both shop and home is rented, and both HCC and Dixie Towing can get in gear perhaps. If not both of my trucks will leave a heap better looking and running than when I got here. My PSR in Twin keeps saying move to Twin Falls, why? Where I have to compete with 30 different towing companies with a total population base of just under 50,000 corpuscles, or kick it in , here in Bliss where I’m the only highway hooker for a good 20 or so miles in either direction? Which would you do. Sure a vintage warbyrd restoration company is still on my list of things to accomplish. But being realistic, I have a good Doctor here, and outside of a very damn few souls, I’m liked by many here in not only Bliss but throughout Gooding County.

Good old Bliss

When someone thinks of the great metro areas of Idaho the last thing many consider is Bliss Idaho.

And justifiably so, after all with a population base just under 700 people Bliss would never be called a metropolis. Yet Bliss is a grand place to be, and with only a train rolling through 4 times a day and 4 times per night, when looking for a hideaway location for Dixie Towing and HCC two subs of AyreWolf Aviation , Bliss became the obvious choice. Many have asked me why>? I say , that when you own a vintage tow truck, and only one cept for my service truck, trying to compete with dern near show trucks in either Jerome or Twin Falls to the south, and Gooding to the east, having towing territory from Buhl to the Ignore County line west, or from Wendell to the Ignore County Idaho line is not bad odds. Given that and the sheer history of a wild west town that of all towns in Idaho, where brothels are still legal by city law and how could anyone go wrong, much? With an upcoming sewer system going in , in two years, with the close location only 88 miles to capitol city of Boise, Idaho, and everything , by the time you get er done, Bliss makes peace and quiet sense. Watch for news right here for the grand opening of Dixie Towing/HCC of Idaho in Bliss coming this fall.  Now to another item of some interest. When you try to buy advertising from your local TV station, but your local TV station ignores you, or thinks your too small of a fish to fry what do you do? Do like I do, email sales@hulu.com and advertise on Hulu. With the very best in old time full hour dramas like ye ole Wolf here grew up on and the newer stuff from Parenthood to Chuck, Hulu delivers where the locals count. You not only reach your area, and target demographic , but you also reach a wider area of several states , in fact the entire planet. As anyone who logs onto Hulu, sees your ad. Yes its costly, but when your locals sit on their duff and will not call, I haul with Hulu, and so should you. They say buy local, buy Idaho, but when local and Idaho is too stuck up to even return a phone call, well why not spend out of Idaho, after all the ads for Idaho’s lottery is produced out of state.

When you can’t buy local do it yourself

Every other day or at least once per hour I hear promo PSA’s saying buy local, as well as buy Idaho. With that on your H-U-D, think this. I inquired to KTVB on two issues, one was getting into the minds of so many who have heads in their behinds, that us in our brother organization the Knytes-of-Anarchy, doing a state wide truck trek to raise money for St. Jude’s hospital in Tennessee. To no avail, as Kim Fields or anyone from KTVB’s news staff returned even a phone call. Okay maybe not news worthy, to them, but bet your next biannual inspection that once the truck trek is made, they’ll be on the phone. Next did an inquiry to both the sales manager in Boise at KTVB, as well as KTFT, here in Twin Falls, looking to get some TV ad time for ayrewolffm. Guess what? it’s been a mostly when we get around to it. Now I fully understand that KTVB and KTFT’s sales staff has other clients, some spending huge amounts per month, some not so much, but when and I have been on the other side of this, when a sponsor or potential sponsor calls with cash nearly in hand, one in broadcasting should jump, and get in gear. With NBC having only a few shows that rate any kind of local ad support, and a newscast that very seldom has anything on it concerning Magic Valley news, mostly Boise, that we’d come along looking for ad time, and are nearly ignored, makes one think, can we as a club even buy ad time locally? It was the same trash I got from many local radio stations here long before KDSL as well as KTOW went on the air. Which is why KDSL/KTOW went on the air in 1976. The locals ignored us, or took us seriously enough to get off their duff to call on us, so we put up our own stick up and know what? Local radio stations were for all intents done for. As none of them could keep up with our ratings or ad revenue. We brought Magic Valley and Idaho radio out of the Victorian age into the modern era, at least as modern as the mid 1970’s early 80’s provided. Fast forward to 2010, in less than 4 months both ayrewolffm, as well as KAWR goes on the air. Does KTVB and KTFT really want to ignore us? So why buy local when you have to do it yourself? Wonder the path to doing a LPTV station? Considering KTVB is giving up its analog signal mid June, might as well put KAWT on channel 38. Then watch em cringe.

Just because someone else hasn’t done it why not?

Just because nobody has done it don’t mean that the whatever it is or the whatever it is can’t be done or shouldn’t be done. Case-n-point, many criticize our efforts on bringing the technology of The Lady to real life. I say why not. Sure back in the mid to late 1980’s it was a reach, but with fly by wire technology along with advanced avionics that is available today including GPS amongst others why couldn’t a fully computerized or computer assisted 222A be put in the air? For that matter one with capable mach plus speed. Sure two GE turbines under the rear of the cabin, intakes over the landing gear on both sides, a set of Kennard wings on the nose, and rotors that could be set to be wings , disengage at turbine mode? Along with the rest, why not develop it? Just like Paul Farnsworth in Rigby Idaho, put together fully functional Television. I’m sure there were many who asked him why, as well as told him he were nuts, but he did it and look at TV now? Likewise much of the tech that brought about the P.C. was not completely brought to being by Bill Gates, the basic software was developed by two youth again in Rigby Idaho, in a basement in the same town. Again many told them, they were nuts too. But look now. The list of one of’s and technology , great inventions came about because someone saw the possibility, not the impossible , and did it. Just like us here in the AyreWolvez do in a real working version of the Lady. Could you see a Bell Ranger with the same agility as an Air Tractor spraying crops over a field? I can. Sure helo’s are doing crop dusting duty, but what about one that could do the same thing more efficiently? Say precision ag aviation? If it does the job better, faster, for less cost, for say us here at AyreWolf Aviation, why not do it? Innovation does not happen by those saying why? Innovation comes by saying Why Not?

Doctor has me on bed rest for a week, says my blood now is too thin and needs to adjust meds, as well as release me through FAA to fly. So best do as Doc Kunz says.

Silk purses out of Sows Ears

Last night I had this dream, where in I somehow was in Layton Utah again, and from some unknown source reunited with a hot flame that never did quite fyre. Looking back on it , I met this gal upon entering 2nd grade at the illustrious Crestview Elementary School in Layton Utah. There she was Peggy Ann Follett, who was the smallest blonde , blue eyed gal in the class. Over the years nobody came close, to her majesty or beauty at least to me. Through the skirmishes of preteen boy girl growth she resisted I kept advancing. Right into the last year of grade school there, 6th grade. In my class was 3 young super hot babes that were hot for my frame , yet because I was hooked on Peggy, could not see them. There was Dawn Odle who we nick named Dawn Noodle(God rest her soul), Michelle Gates and Cindy Bousche. Michelle ended up with some associate producer at Sundance, owned by actor Robert Redford, Cindy got hitched to some medical professional, who knows what happened to Peggy , I have tried to find out, and where am I? Bliss Idaho going broke over getting into the air rather than tending to something that I have been ignoring that could be putting green in my jeans. Look at it this way, and by this I’m not closing the door or pulling back on the stick of AyreWolf Aviation, but I have to look at AyreWolf Aviation as Peggy, and LexiBelle and all that makes that up as Cindy Bousche. Who if I hadn't ignored would have been married to her, inherited a grand estate and been , more than likely a hellovallot better off. A piece of property has been pitched back to me and its got my mind thinking. Sure I may not have more than 5 or 10 years to go toew, and spin a wrench, but as long as I can, why the hell not, plus I get a whole house with it. All to myself, that I can have a pooch, satellite dish, and ear sticks all over to support my requirements for communication etc. Where in this dingy apartment I get a place to sleep, eat, and shit and not a hellofallot more.  Plus at the service station I can make some green selling products, and turning a wrench, bringing LexiBelle to her rightful beauty. Is that why God above made me dream that dream, in essence wake me up to what I’m ignoring snoring and lusting over flying, rather than generating, money and a life, going toewing and building rodz ? Perhaps. Now granted doing up a place at $500.00 a month, is steep when you consider I only rake in $700.00 a month basic money, after child support, and all. But if one takes the amounts of $145.00 I pay for rent on this shack I snoose in, and if I rent a shop in Jerome for $300.00 , plus electric and all , I’m still paying $500.00 . And with that I’m not making a damn dime and wouldn’t until mid year next year. On the same road but in a different lane, if I take this gas station, here, with living quarters, in two months or less even with a mere $200.00 left over, I can be making green by August or September. Granted its not the income of AyreWolf Aviation , but I never see that anyway. Here I would see it up front and in person. The only person knowing about it is Cuzzin Bud, so why the hell not? While the service station is not yet a done deal yet, it does give one cause for real thought. So rather than doing as I did as a youth , hungering over Peggy , rather than feasting over Dawn, or Cindy, in this case, ignoring Lexibelle and HCC and lusting over AyreWolf Aviation, I think I’m going to pursue what is grounded rather than what may be. In essence turning this Sows ear into a silk purse. Let ya’ll know. By the highway, noticed that even though not in the Yeller pages, did see AyreWolf Aviation, AyreWolfFM and Dixie Towing in the business white pages of ye ole Qwest’s phone book.

They say they don’t but they do

Dig this Wolf-Pack, a week ago yesterday, I go into Furniture and Appliance Warehouse in Twin Falls to rent to buy a new TV. Yes finally have to upgrade and go digital as KTVB’s analog channel in Twin goes down in June.

Any flyte, the claim on TV , is they don’t check credit etc, bullshit. They do check credit ratings. But their claim is no they don’t. Now considering that my personal financial credit is so bad , I couldn’t get credit for a wrestling jacket for a piss ant, if my life depended on it, which is why I went in there. They of course checked all my references Knytes and AyreWolvez members mostly and I know they gave me a standing ovation, so what gives? Poor credit. If they check credit why not just say so on TV?

If I have said it once, I’ll say it again, outside you the AyreWolvez and the Knytes, I don’t trust no one, as they speak out the left side of their mouths. I’m investigating this company and will report as soon as I can, but if your looking to buy on a rent to own, go to Renter Center of America, or best yet, buy it outright. I called a pal at a REAL electronics place in Twin Falls, they gave me a better deal than Furniture and Appliance Warehouse did. So don’t patronize in any way Furniture and Appliance Warehouse in Twin Falls Idaho, you’ll waste your time.

Web site or TV AD, if ya’ll want to get noticed, add spice!!

Whether your doing up a spankingly great web site or a TV ad, makes no difference, if ya’ll want to get noticed, add some spice. Just like going to a pot luck supper, the really bland dishes never get ate, but the ones with some real kick get ravished. Years ago in advertising a business on say TV, there were what 3 maybe 4 TV networks and in our area , we were thankful for at least two maybe three we could see well. Two were in Boise that came in fuzzy until the translator was installed and good old KMVT. Then , it did not matter much to have real punch, since if you could get on at all, few had any choice but to see your ad. The face of media today is much different, between both Dish and DirecTV, to the Internet and IPTV where 60% of our ad dollars here at AyreWolf Aviation going to Hulu, and of course our local OTA stations. In any case the blah, blah blend of generic TV ads no longer cuts it. A great philosopher once said, “its stupidity to do the same things over and over again, but expecting different results.” This is the core reason, we in the AyreWolvez as well as AyreWolf Aviation do our best to create better than average TV ads for ourselves. Whether its a hot blonde in a skin tight flight suit pitching our club standing by one of our byrds, a catchy music jingle, or a combination, this is what catches the eye and makes people remember you and want to do business with you, as with adding spice your name and message is retained. It’s like all the ad mails I get in my email everyday, only those with some kick or eye candy do I open up. The rest gets deposited in the pile 13 file.  There are expensive ads and not so expensive ads. Production can be a few hundred bucks or several thousand dollars. Thank goodness that we here at the AyreWolvez have our own in hangar production company, that is available free to AyreWolvez members and at reasonable cost to none members. In any case in today’s ad market , no matter how much you spend on ad placement, if its bland it wont get noticed, if it has spice your message will soar. Next entry, how we do it.
