Fighting northern Yankee conservatism and mindsets can be a daunting task sometimes. Case-n-Point the big break-out of us in the Wendell Idaho based HCN, I was told was too wild for her publication. Not surprising, as I even told her at the coffee get together from the starting gate that what we do and are about is fight the system and are a bit out there. She said okay. More over it was a guy from some Veterans group that was asking about us doing something on military aircraft nose art, and including photos. So I did. Oh well. Guess we’ll just have to keep publishing the Hazzard Gazzette and us do it our way as we have for nearly 35 years here. Now grant you I write more on the style of EasyRiders, rather than the Senior Citizens Church Review, but there are a bunch of those same old Senior Citizens that read the Gazzette rather than the HCN. Its HCN’s choice I suppose. But things around us are that way. It’s like the decision to launch the radio station that by the highway is still in the works for late August early September. But thing being while I’d never ever publish anything total nude, I don’t mind showing off a bit of cleavage either. It adds to flare and sensuality but I will not go completely trashy. I try as does all arms of the Knytes-of-Anarchy including the AyreWolvez to work with local business’s and such. When they wont bend its up to us always to do it our way, and that satisfies most who listen to our radio show on both XM/Sirius as well as reads the Gazzette. Who looses here? HCN. They loose not only my advertising business for Dixie Towing, Hazzard County Choppers and AyreWolf Aviation, but also that of those who belong to the rest of the clubs that are part of the Knytes. With nearly 100 members just in the Magic Valley alone collectively including all siblings of the Knytes that is allot of ad revenue that HCN looses. Must be making tons of money at that Package Store and HCN included to snub their nose at us. Its not seeing the forest for the trees. Fighting northern Yankee style conservatism is a full time job and considering although many see brighter days on the HUD for 2011, it some areas, Idaho will stumble its way down that path, because of the religious and such politically too conservative attitudes. I used to think Utah was bad on this front, but Western Idaho has gotten worse. Hey members and friends it was this way years ago, and that has not changed much. There are parts of the valley that does pull its head out and there are places even in the valley that see not being so stiff collared is not so bad, in fact that creates business and that translates into income.
It is and has always been that way and the core mission of the Knytes of Anarchy that changes minds and paths. Its fight the system and Yankee Conservatism any where and any way we can.
